Let’s Talk

Communication is supposed to be the primary form of dialogue among women whether it involves gossip, reports, or verbal exchange. Before technology has involved speaking to each other with emojis and text messages, the telephone invention was primal for talking. For the past twenty years, communication devices have evolved from cell phones with touchscreen features to text messages.

Speaking of text messages, this feature has been the new mouthpiece for millions of women and have replaced regular conversation by over 50%. In addition, text messages which are also known as Short Message services have been around since 1995 from the debut of  phone company APC with a joint venture with Sprint and 1992 from an engineer in Finland  via Wikipedia. Plus, the instant message feature similar to text message was commonly used in AOL in the 90’s that have progressed to online chat features used in Facebook, Twitter and several corporate companies texting around the area. The pros are the ability to reach others in a bad area, quick response time, and short messaging; the cons are lack of communication,  lazy form of expression,  misinterpretation of message sent, and limitation of personal connection with loved ones.

Even though text messages are great to send out quick notes and messages, I also prefer direct communication face to face with family and friends. How do you communicate: phone call, text, email?

Working Mom

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the working moms around the world. Being a mother figure who is able to balance a career along with raising a family is very commendable in today’s world. Recent news reports have note that women have been waiting later in life to get married or have children due to lack of stability, wanting travel pursuits checked off the bucket list and a suitable candidate for marriage or surrogacy once settled in life.

However, being a mother figure requires sacrifice,  selflessness, wisdom, maturity,  balance and unconditional love for the average woman to implement in her lifestyle. I am proud to say that my mom has embodied all of these special qualities and responsibilities  throughout my life so far and I am looking forward to motherhood someday when I am ready. Also, a mother figure can consist of a mom, Grandma, Aunt,  cousin, friend or any woman who stepped up to raise children to the best of their abilities for a healthy transition into you have approached motherhood. To all of the new and current moms, has motherhood hindered or enhanced your professional careers?

It’s Raining Robots

robotic

Spring showers bring robust robots? The recent discovery of restaurants such as Applebee’s have automated tablets that debuted last year that could potentially take over several jobs in the future. As a matter of fact, Judith Aquinas noted in “Nine Jobs That Humans May Lose to Robots” include lawyers, pharmacists, manufacturing, babysitters or emergency personnel that has been developed in Japan for natural disasters such as tsunamis that could possibly trickle down to us down in the future. Throughout modern day history, manufacturing jobs were prominent for working professionals like us in the 20th century. Now, the working industries have gotten smarter and several thousands of jobs have not been shipped overseas but robots have swept the job market and will eventually cut the workforce down to size for future gains. Talk about job reduction…humans will cease to exist eventually for job production. What are your thoughts on this subject at hand?
